Hello September

a cute penguin to bring the smiles.

a pretty late greeting considering it’s already halfway through September but i must say it’s been quite a fulfilling month so far. work has been taking its toll on me lately though. have been procrastinating a lot despite having tons of tasks on hand. can’t hold on for too long anyways; October is a killer month and November is going to be so much worse…. well well, guess we’ll just keep our fingers crossed and look forward to a good break in December! by then, it wouldn’t be long till i see love again – can’t wait for the next 18 weeks to be over..

37 days and counting…

Express passes

party in the studios.

spent the last day of July with my awesome people at Universal Studios Singapore. we conquered all (except those waste-of-time-kiddy) rides and even had time to go a 2nd time for some of the hottest rides, all thanks to this thing called the EXPRESS PASS! well, it cost almost as much as our discounted one-day pass but trust me, it was worth it. you literally beat that crazy queue for almost everything although it’s only valid for just once. anyhow, i guess it’s the company that matters more. i really really love this photo. (:

PS: been a bloody long time since i blogged. how is this space surviving without updates?
open arms.

Sleep can wait

the first.

completed 10km for my first ever marathon! now it makes more sense. still rmb that i signed up for SCM 21km last year but wasn’t brave enough to go alone. lol. am glad that i managed to push myself for it this time. well, technically i was only alone for the hour plus of run; super thankful for ben’s company before and after the race! anyway, i think i almost just gave up totally for a couple of times throughout the race! cannot imagine myself going marathon for a second time. maybe i need to train up so that i can run 10km with a breeze and that will be the time i sign for 21km again! heh. before that, shall invest in a good pair of shoes cos this cui pair just rewarded me with a legful of blisters! RAR!

you’ve no idea..

Land of smiles

sawatdee-kha.

hello Singapore! am back from the stressful leg-breaking trip to BKK with the girls. although it was a fairly short holiday, i swear we totally maxed out the 4 days, be it physically, financially or mentally. okay, maybe not so much of the last. anyways, took my 2nd SIA flight, experienced the red shirt rally live in BKK, visited my company’s Thailand office, bargained my way to a few good prices, shopped till i dropped and went totally broke. in any case, enjoyed the whole time spent with the girls; thanks gege for bringing and “forcing” us around. legs-breaking but pretty fruitful! well, i guess the next holiday, i’m going to need a relaxing trip…. *winks

tried so hard.

Masked

all the maybes.

masked for a day in office and after another day of rest at home, i’m almost all well again. you know, it’s pretty amazing how i always fall really sick and then recover in just a span of 1-2 days. because comparatively, sissy and granny have been coughing for almost the past 2-3 weeks. anyways, i swear just one night of it is enough. the nightmares i get when i’m unwell seems so magnified; it gets so traumatizing that i wake up feeling weak and dehydrated from all the crying. rights, on a side note, i hope granny is doing fine in the hospital. well, at least i feel so much safer knowing she’s being well taken care of over there. totally gave us a big shock when she fainted in the kitchen yesterday. glad we were still at home then because i can’t imagine what would happen if we were all out to work already. sigh. growing old…… i’m a little afraid already.

2 more days!

Of GE 2011

GE virgin?

and so, we’ve been told over the past couple of weeks that “voters, make your votes count. vote wisely. know what you want. know who you are voting for. that is your future and yada yada yada…” i thought i was going to be excited. but no, i realised that i don’t actually think it’s going to affect me much on who the MPs of my GRC are going to be.

our rights..

Rapunzel

a tangled tale.

just finished watching the show that has been in my laptop for a couple of months. and as any other fairytale goes, the ending is always as sweet as ever. and yes, although you know it’s unrealistic, sometimes you just can’t help but fantasize about your own happily ever after. and then maybe, you just gotta pray hard that the ever will not become a never.. (:

magical.

After a while..

growing.

After a while you learn
The subtle difference between
Holding a hand and chaining a soul
And you learn that love doesn’t mean leaning
And company doesn’t always mean security.

And you begin to learn
That kisses aren’t contracts
And presents aren’t promises
And you begin to accept your defeats
With your head up and your eyes ahead
With the grace of a woman
Not the grief of a child

And you learn
To build all your roads on today
Because tomorrow’s ground is
Too uncertain for plans
And futures have a way
Of falling down in mid flight

After a while you learn
That even sunshine burns if you get too much
So you plant your own garden
And decorate your own soul
Instead of waiting
For someone to bring you flowers

And you learn
That you really can endure
That you are really strong
And you really do have worth
And you learn and you learn
With every goodbye, you learn..
