The status

right, this says it all. if you still don’t know, the above is for NUS application. *smiles* the letter should arrive pretty soon i guess. sometimes i can’t help wondering if it’ll make a difference if i’d put FASS as my first choice instead. in any case, i’ll most probably try again next year. it still depends on the last letter that has yet to arrive..

initially wanted to get away from home for some retail therapy. however, didn’t manage to find any shopping mate. so yea, rotted at home the whole day until now. i wouldn’t say it is a very meaningful stay-home-day but at least, i did a few things.

Testing, 1, 2, 3

a little update about work.. changed department a few days ago but i don’t exactly know what post i’m holding now. in any case, time passed pretty fast ever since. been doing testing, testing, and more testing. the above picture shows a couple of test account emails i created on my domain. actually i think the email addresses are really beautiful! anyone wants one too? *laughs*

anyways, lunched with my colleagues today. yes, after more than 2 months, this is the first time i’m lunching with them. amazing huh? but still, i kinda prefer eating alone.. can’t really help it i guess. afterall, i’m really quite a loner at times..

oh, and today – 23rd May 2008 – marks the start of great singapore sale!! not like i’m a big fan of it but…. is it time to do some shopping yet?! there’re so many things i need! *looks around and start taking down notes* probably i should go work for a year and earn some buckaroos before studying again. hmmmmmm….

Some updates

oh right, haven’t been updating for quite long – ok, 3 days’ considered LONG enough for me. *laughs* have been trying to and am done reformatting my computer. well, somehow, many old things (like songs, videos and pictures) are back to their respective places so not much space is CLEARED to use actually. the only good thing is that i don’t get that irritating blue screen anymore. but yup, i’ve no microsoft and photoshop to use right now thus, the lack of pictures.

these few days have been pretty hectic. at work, there were tons to do; good and bad, i shall not elaborate.. today was a very long day out in the sun. beaching? i wish, but no.. first stop was haw par villa to fulfill mr tan yong beng’s childhood dreams. up next, got cheated into walking a couple of kilometers on a i-don’t-know-what bridge. got tanned a little, sweat a lot, and tired a million.

so so glad there’s a vesak day before the start of the working week again. shall try to get more things done because i can see my to-do list getting longer AND longer! on a random note, i’ve been kinda bimbotic lately. guess it’s time to refrain a little.. LOL

Guowei

say hello to my nephew! *laughs out loud* if you ever remembered him appearing on my blog, his name is guowei. well, i can’t exactly recall why sister named him that but i know it has been his name for as long as he was with us.

poor him has been left on the cold recently and it wasn’t until yesterday when mommy threatened to throw him away that HIS mum (sister) realised his existence. then she quickly put him into the wash for a bath in the pail his bathtub. then i said, “be careful ah, later when you take him out, he luk sek!” then we burst out laughing like kids. it was really LOL lah. but yea, my nephew is perfectly alright, no colour runs, only *bling bling* clean! (:

actually, isn’t he adorable? *smiles* sad for me though, i can’t remember what names i last gave my dolls. in fact, i don’t even have any that’s still sleeping with me right now..

The ride

daddy made me really sad for an hour. he called to tell me i’ve a letter from NUS and i asked him to open it on my behalf. and yup, as expected, BAD news. oh right, but i felt so much happier when i reached home to see that it’s NTU instead. honestly, i don’t bear any hopes on the latter so it’s still alright. now, two more letters to decide my fate. i don’t know which i’m pinning hopes on but i’m really not expecting much already. (:

i’m going to reformat my laptop real soon. so i’ve been mass-backing up the files. i wanted to have a clean start, getting rid of everything but i guess i really ain’t that brave. still, there’re lots that i want to keep! heh.

anyways, had a very disastrous adventure this evening. took my boy out for a ride to get the hard disk from gz then drove him to bt panjang. it seems like everything’s gone wrong and for once, i felt so duper unsafe in my own car. gosh.

translated an SMS joke from mummy’s phone. i think i’ll die if i have a son like that. *laughs*

mum: ah boy, go and help me buy soft drink.
boy: sure, you want coke or sprite?
mum: coke.
boy: can or bottle?
mum: erm, bottle.
boy: normal or diet?
mum: normal.
boy: 500ml or 1l?
mum: (slightly irritated) tsk! you very naggy leh. water can already lah.
boy: distilled or mineral?
mum: distilled.
boy: okay, iced or non-iced?
mum: (angry) TSK! stop asking or i’ll whack you with a broom.
boy: wooden or plastic one?
mum: (fuming mad) you’re really getting on my nerves!
boy: body one or brain one?
mum: (panting mad) i.. i think i’m.. i’m going to vomit blood soon.
boy: oh, then do you need a pail or should i help you to the toilet?
mum: *faints*

Earth day

happy birthday to Mother Earth! and yong beng wants me to mention that he sang a birthday song for Her. but luckily, it was through MSN – you wouldn’t want to HEAR him singing it real time. *evil laughs

and hey, it’s about a month till the GREAT SINGAPORE SALE! okay, not like i’m a big fan of it but.. it’d be a good chance for a serious retail therapy session! as for now, i shall try to save up and cut down on spreeing.

completed another book today in half-awake mode. anyways, been sleeping pretty early recently but it doesn’t seem to help fend off sleepy bugs during work. will be heading for the bed soon and hopefully i can wake up for my Reds game later on. (:

The wait

too many random happenings recently and i’m seriously tired of it. one by one the thoughts accumulate and unknowingly, they come haunting me altogether.

chanced upon this small Q&A in one of the magazines and it updated my knowledge database. i’ve always thought that one will get wetter if you run in the rain – because i remembered someone telling me so when i was younger.. but now it’s proven that it’s the opposite!

have been reading forums these few days and it’s kinda demoralizing to know that most people who got their acceptance letters from local Us are those who got COM or GPA >3.7, which means that it’s pretty hopeless for me already. and i’m starting to regret not applying to SMU because that is where the most averaged-GPA graduands managed to get in..

i know i shouldn’t go on whining like there’s no tomorrow because the rejection letter has yet to come – meaning there’s still a tiny bit of chance. but, i guess it’s more practical to face the fact and start planning my alternative route instead.

anyways, happy 21st to jerms. (:
